Husband wants separate custody trialHudsons face charges in death of adopted son; court must decide fate of couple’s other children
By: Lynn LaRowe - Texarkana Gazette
LINDEN, Texas —The defense attorney representing the adoptive father of a slain 13-year-old wants a custody trial concerning five other kids held separately from his wife.
Texarkana defense attorney Al Smith, who is representing Bill Hudson, told Cass County Court at Law Judge Donald Dowd he may also be filing a motion for a change of venue in the custody trial of five children whose brother died Dec. 3, 2008, of injuries allegedly inflicted by their adoptive mother.
Cynthia Hudson, 46, was the adopted foster mother of Samuel Hudson, 13, his biological 14-year-old brother and 12-year-old sister, another boy age 11 and a pair of 7-year-old opposite gender twins, when the death occurred last year in the couple’s Queen City home.
