Some members on Texarkana College’s Board of Directors have many different reasons for the way they voted on the president’s contract. Recovering from Tuesday night’s emotional meeting, several of them on Wednesday shared the logic behind their votes.
In a roll call vote, board members Borden Bell, Mike Craven, Dr. Andrew Curry, Jennell Ingram and Molly Beth Malcolm voted against a motion to extend President Frank Coleman’s contract until July 2010. Board members Frank McClain, Randy Moore, Dr. C. Jack Smith and Terry Taylor voted to approve the motion. But only Bell and Craven had a chance to address the public during the meeting.
Moore, city president of People’s Bank, said his “yes” vote for Coleman was not only for the president, but for many people.
