PUBLIC SERVICES LIBRARIAN: The Texarkana Public Library seeks a service oriented person capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patrons, employees, supervisors, other agencies and the community. Responsibilities include personal assistance in conducting library research, instruction and reference, acquisitions and collection development, library instruction and planning and coordination of programming and services for all age groups. The position requires a Masters Degree in Library Science or Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution. A minimum of two year experience in library operations is required including a familiarity with library automation systems; knowledge of core library service operations, practices, and principles; and progressively responsible library experience are preferred or any equivalent combination of education and organization experience. A thorough knowledge of computer application in libraries; library selection tools, techniques and acquisition procedures; internet and database searching; knowledge of the principles and practices of office management, work organization, and supervision are preferred.
