THE UNIVERSITY of Arkansas Community College at Hope is accepting applications for four full time Career Coach positions which will be funded on a three year pilot basis by the Arkansas
Department of Career
Education.
General Responsibilities:
Career Coaches will
specifically target those youth and adults who are most in need of career planning
services, specifically
individuals from low income backgrounds. Coaches will identify these students while they are in middle school and high school and encourage them to aspire to
post secondary education as a means to a career that will afford economic self-
sufficiency. Adults who should be specifically
targeted include Career
Pathways and Adult
Education participants, TANF and TANF eligible adults, and unemployed/under employed adults. This position requires extensive local travel to
indentified service-area schools, and reliable personal transportation is essential.
Duties:
Travel on a daily basis to identified service-area high schools in order to provide expected services. Other
duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for
Student Services
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree from an
accredited institution of higher education
Experience in a higher
education or public school work environments preferred
Bilingual a plus
Excellent computer skills with strong background in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and/or
Access.
