THE HOUSING Authority of the City of Texarkana, Texas is accepting applications for the following positions: Mechanic A This position requires a minimum six years experience in a skilled position in at least three of the normal maintenance tasks; certified journeyman skill level in at least three of the normal maintenance tasks or such as plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and/or electrical. Certifications must be submitted with application. Applicants must be able to obtain EPA Certification within six months of employment. The base salary is $22,984.00. Supervisory skills a plus. Mechanic B This position requires a minimum of four years successful experience in least three or more normal maintenance related tasks; certified journeyman skill level in at least two of the normal maintenance tasks such as plumbing, HVAC, carpentry and/or electrical. Applicants must be able to obtain an EPA certification within 6 months of employment. Certifications must be submitted with application. The base salary is $20,508.80. Supervisory skills a plus. Maintenance Aide “B” This position requires a minimum two years successful experience in at least two of the normal maintenance related tasks such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and/or appliance servicing. The base salary is $17,534.40. All applicants must possess a valid Texas or Arkansas driver’s license, high school diploma or GED; pass a pre-employment criminal history background check and drug screening.
