CHANCELLOR UNIVERSITY of Arkansas Community College at Hope The President and Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas System invite letters of nomination and letters of interest for the position of Chancellor of the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The Chancellor is the chief executive officer and external representative of the University and is responsible to the President of the University of Arkansas System. The Chancellor exercises broad responsibilities for all aspects of the academic, financial, student and administrative dimensions of institutional operations, initiatives and outcomes. The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope is located on a 72-acre site originally obtained by the citizens of the area for Red River Vocational-Technical School, which was established in 1965. In 1996, the citizens of Hempstead County approved a _ cent sales tax to support the expansion of the College. Later that year, the College became an independent campus of the University of Arkansas System and was renamed the University of Arkansas Community College at Hope. The University of Arkansas Community College at Hope (UACCH) is an accredited open access, two year institution of higher education committed to providing quality academic, occupational, personal growth and cultural programs to support individual student and community needs in the Southwest Arkansas area. UACCH is in a phase of dynamic growth and was recognized in the Fall of 2007 as the fastest growing higher education institution in the state of Arkansas. It is also one of the most technologically advanced community colleges in Arkansas and was a recent recipient of an award for excellence in distance learning by the Instructional Technology Council, a national distance learning organization. This award recognized the innovative on-line degree consortium partnership between UACCH and the University of Arkansas Community College at Batesville and Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas. UACCH is also very proud of its partnerships with the University of Arkansas Little Rock, the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, the University of Arkansas Fayetteville, and Southern Arkansas University at Magnolia for offering successful baccalaureate and graduate degree programs to rural Arkansas communities. Hope, Arkansas, is a growing community that is strategically located in Southwest Arkansas along Interstate 30 two hours from Little Rock, Arkansas and three hours from Dallas, Texas. Candidates should have demonstrated leadership skills in an academic environment and senior experience in the administration of an institution of higher education. A Master’s degree is required and preference will be given to candidates with an earned Doctoral degree.
