Sealed Bids for 2007 Bond Issue, Additions and Improvements High School, Pleasant Grove Independent School District, Texarkana, Texas will be received by the Owner until Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 2:00 P.M. in the Board Room of the Pleasant Grove ISD Central Services Building located at 8500 North Kings Highway, Texarkana, Texas. Mailed proposals should be addressed to Ms. Margaret Davis, Superintendent, Pleasant Grove ISD, at the address listed above. Telephoned or faxed bids will not be accepted. Bids will be opened publicly and read aloud immediately after the specified closing time. No submitted Bid may be changed, amended or modified once submitted after the listed Bid receipt time. A Bid may be withdrawn, however, and resubmitted any time prior to the time set for receipt of Bids. The Bid will be based on a single lump sum with bid alternates.
Potential Bidders are required to prequalify through the Office of the Architect for the approval of the Owner, no later than seven (7) days prior to submission of Bids. Utilize and formally submit one (1) fully executed and current AIA Document A305 (latest edition) - Contractors Qualification Statement.
The work involves the renovation of and additions to the existing High School Campus.
Bidding Documents for a Stipulated Price contract may be obtained by General Contract Bidders only from the office of the Architect, Thacker | Davis Architects Incorporated, 1100 Judson Road, Suite 620, Longview, Texas 75601, 903/236-3771, upon receipt of a refundable deposit, by check made payable to Pleasant Grove ISD, in the amount of $200 for one set (maximum four sets per General Contract Bidders). Deposits will be refunded to General Contract Bidders who return the documents in good and usable condition within ten (10) days after opening of bids. Additionally, the bidding documents may be reviewed by all bidders on this project at the Office of the Architect, online at Wolf Prints Online Plan Room http://www.wolfprints.us (plans may be viewed, or prints ordered, from this online service registration with the hosting web service is required prior to viewing), or viewed/purchased for the cost of reproduction at/from Wolf Prints, 314 East Tyler Avenue, Longview, Texas, 903/753-1721, FAX 903/753-7317.
General Contract Bidders will be required to provide Bid security in the form of a Bid Bond in the amount of a sum no less than 5 percent of the Bid amount. The Bid security shall be retained by the Owner if the General Contract Bidders fails to execute the Contract or fails to provide satisfactory Performance and Payment Bonds as required within ten (10) days after notice of award to the General Contract Bidders. Bonds must be executed by a corporate surety authorized to do business in and licensed in the State of Texas to issue surety bonds.
All Bids must be submitted on the Bid Form provided in the Bidding Documents. Bidders are required to fully complete the Bid Form. Incomplete Bid Forms may be a cause for submittal rejection.
Bids will be required to be submitted under a condition of irrevocability for a period of 30 days after the opening of all submitted Bids.
The General Contractor Bidder selected for award of the contract will be the General Contract Bidder whose Bid is most advantageous to the Owner. The Owner is not bound to accept the lowest priced Bid if that Bid is not in the best interest of the Owner, as determined by the Owner. The Owner reserves the right to accept or reject any or all Bids.
