SECTION 00020 AND INVITATION FOR BIDS The Southwest Arkansas Water District (SWAWD) will receive bids for painting at the Millwood Lake Raw Water Intake until 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, at the SWAWD Offices located at Stateline Plaza, Texarkana, Arkansas. The bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2008, in the SWAWD Board Room. The mailing address is SWAWD, P.O. Box 8004, Texarkana, AR 71854. Bids are invited for cleaning and painting the discharge piping and support structures for the Raw Water Intake Structure at Millwood Lake. Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications, are on file at the following locations: SWAWD, Stateline Plaza, Texarkana, Arkansas; and Murray, Thomas & Griffin, Inc., 5930 Summerhill Rd, Texarkana, TX 75503. Copies of Bid/Contract Documents may be obtained by depositing Seventy-five Dollars ($75) with Murray, Thomas & Griffin, Inc. for each set of documents obtained. Twenty-five Dollars ($25) of the deposit will be refunded if the documents and drawings are returned in good condition within 10 days following the bid opening. A bid bond in the amount of 5% of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to SWAWD, or negotiable U.S. Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond. The SWAWD reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding. Bids may be held by SWAWD for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.
