Miller County’s coffers will grow by more than $300,000 if the Arkansas Supreme Court agrees with a local circuit judge regarding the conduct of a major home insurance company.
Last week, Circuit Judge Kirk Johnson penned an order sanctioning Foremost Insurance for failing to produce documents and e-mails in the pretrial phase of a major class action lawsuit pending in Miller County.
The suit, Chivers versus State Farm Fire and Casualty et. al., accuses four long established national residential insurers of scheming to cheat home owners of money their policies guarantee them in the event of a claim where a general contractor could be necessary.
