Want to try a Reese’s milkshake or a how about a Strawberry Cheesecake shake?   These are just a couple of over 50 flavors that Tonja and Kathy are serving at Shake the Weight which is located in the Trinity Square Shopping Center by BJAXX.  Make no mistake, these are not the same milkshakes found at fast food joints or gyms. 

“The purpose of the store is to provide people a healthy alternative for breakfast, lunch or dinner,” says owner, Tonja Bridges.  “Instead of getting fast food, people can come here and get a nutritious, smoothie-style shake and an herbal green tea.”  Our slogan is, “Fast Food for Smart People.”  The shake contains your vitamins, proteins and minerals while the tea helps with fat burning, appetite control and boosts your metabolism.  Both drinks could help a person gain, lose or maintain your ideal body weight.

“Registration is only 5.00 and comes with your first shake and tea, a body analysis with our exclusive Shapes can body analyzer, and the weight and measurement chart set-up.   With the use of our products, all follow-up consultations are free.   You can come into the store and get the shake and tea combo meal ready made for only 4.00 dollars or you can take the products home with our recipes.  The products are from our parent company, Herbalife International, the leading nutrition company in the world.   We have targeted health products, children’s’ products, and incredible skin care products for all ages,” says Bridges. 

“It tastes like your cheating but you are really having something very healthy that helps you lose weight,” says a loyal customer, Mary Jane.  “My favorite shake is the Carmel Café Latte because it still has the coffee taste I crave in the mornings.”

Shake the Weight also sells protein bars, soy nuts and other healthy snacks but the shakes are the main attraction.  Shake the Weight provides an atmosphere where people can come in, relax and enjoy their drinks, or they can get them to go. 

“It’s a sad fact that 70% of all Americans are overweight or clinically obese, and people are definitely looking for a healthy alternative,” Bridges said.  “We are truly in a Wellness Revolution where people are sick and tired of being sick and tired and on all sorts of medications.”   Herbalife is labeled as a food.   Bridges said people had been open to learning about the health benefits of the shakes, especially after they tasted them.
