STAMPS, Ark.—General Lee Forte Sr., 98, of Camden, Ark., died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at his home.

Mr. Forte was born Sept. 20, 1913, in Chidester, Ark. He was a member of Hickory Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, Camden, where he served as Sunday school teacher. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rosie Forte; and one son, Ardia McCree.

Survivors include three sons, General Lee Forte Jr. Willie C. and Aaron C. McCree of Camden; two daughters, Vella Minor of Camden and Bertha Rigsby of Rockford, Ill.; three brothers, Willis Forte of Ontario, Calif., John Forte of Atlanta, Ga., and Arthur Allen of Smackover, Ark.; three sisters, Dessie B. Flonoy of Springhill, La., Bessie L. Hanley of Camden and Bessie Mae Allen of Detroit, Mich.; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Monday at Hickory Ridge Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Shad Porchia officiating. Burial will be in Hickory Ridge Cemetery under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The body may be viewed from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
