ATLANTA, Texas—Boyd Maurice Echols Gillespie, 87, of Tyler, Texas, died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, in Tyler.
Mrs. Gillespie was born Sept. 1, 1925, in Cass County, Texas. She was a typist for Red River Army Depot; inspector for Longhorn Army Ammunition Depot, Karnack, Texas; a homemaker; a Pentecostal; and member of College Hill Tabernacle, Texarkana. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Arthur Gillespie Sr.; and one son, John George Gillespie.
Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Connie and Nathan Ward and Bonnie Broussard; four sons and one daughter-in-law, George Jr. and Rebecca Gillespie, Robert Gillespie, Ronald Gillespie and Stephen Gillespie; a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives.
Services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Hanner Funeral Service with Mike Littlefield and John Gillespie officiating. Burial will be in Kildare Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
