NEW BOSTON, Texas—Buna Mae Fields, 81, of New Boston died Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in a local nursing home.

Mrs. Fields was born March 22, 1931, in Bowie County, Texas. She was a retired woodworker from Red River Army Depot, a charter member of American Legion Post No. 488 and member of Siloam Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie L. Fields Jr.; and one grandchild, Kimberly Dawn Walker.

Survivors include five children, Jimmy Walker of Simms, Texas, Stacey Walker and Junior Tefteller of New Boston, Bonnie Easley of Texarkana and Sheran Kight of Maud, Texas; four sisters, Betty Humes, Mary Franks, Faddie Peters and Bernadine Feagin; two brothers, Troy Pulce and William P. Pulce Jr.; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church, New Boston, with Dr. Ken Cox officiating. Burial will be in New Boston Cemetery under direction of Comforter Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
