George Howard Threadgill Sr., 74, of Ashdown, Ark., died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in Ashdown.

Mr. Threadgill was  born Aug. 6, 1938, in Richmond, Ark. He worked in the logging industry.

Survivors include his wife, Ruby Threadgill; three daughters, Georgette Erby of Nashville, Ark., Daluphia Threadgill of Columbia, S.C., and Terri O’Quinn of Fort Worth, Texas; three sons, George Threadgill Jr., Timothy Threadgill and Kendrick Threadgill of Ashdown; six sisters, Willie Mae Robinson of Ogden, Ark., Lillie Mae Briggins of Little Rock, Shirley Threadgill, Lora Ann Covington and Jeanette Dean of Ashdown and Lurlean Montgomery of Texarkana; and three brothers, William Curtis of Shreveport, La., Charles Threadgill and Nathan Threadgill of Ashdown.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at New Zion Baptist Church, Richmond, with the Rev. Jerry Pickens officiating. Burial will be in Hemphill Cemetery, Richmond, under direction of Jones Stuart Mortuary.

Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
