James Hooper, 63, of Avery, Texas, died Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2012, in a local hospital.

Mr. Hooper was born Sept. 12, 1949, in Shreveport, La. He was a retired hardwood floor finisher for City of Los Angeles Recreation and Parks Department.

Survivors include two sons, Rickey Joe Hooper and Ryan James; his father, Owen Hooper; four sisters, Linda, Mary, Ramona and Laretta; two stepsisters, Robin and Denise; and one stepbrother, Tom.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday in Pleasant Hill Cemetery with John Hall officiating. Burial will be under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
