Lieutenant Threadgill Sr., 72, of Hooks, Texas, died Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, in a local hospital.

Mr. Threadgill was born Feb. 23, 1940, in Arkansas. He was a firefighter, Golden Gloves boxer, vice president of Burns-Red Bank Water Co-Op and a member of Fireman’s Association and Cedar Springs Baptist Church in Hooks, where he was a deacon. 

Survivors include one son, Lieutenant Threadgill Jr. of Hooks; four daughters, Tina Lincoln of Flint, Mich., Ramona Shavers of Florida, Chantay Courtney of Diboll, Texas, and Tasha Cooper of Hooks; one brother, Levell Threadgill of Texarkana; four sisters, Susie Johnson of Hooks, Willie Mae Shaw of Dallas, Katie Stephens of Kansas City and Daisy Pace of Flint; and 10 grandchildren.

Services will be noon Saturday at Cedar Springs Baptist Church with the Rev. Willie L. Batts officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Springs Cemetery under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Viewing will be 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home with visitation from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
