Virginie Marene Bradley, 86, of Arkadelphia, Ark., formerly of Texarkana, Texas, died Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in an Arkadelphia retirement center.

Ms. Bradley was born March 9, 1926, in Nash, Texas. She was retired from Lone Star Army Ammunition Plant; member of International Chemical Workers Union where she served as trustee, Progressive Women’s Club where she served as president, International Masons ADAH chapter 2 and Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church, Nash, Texas, where she served as a Sunday school teacher and president of usher ministry. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie “Charlie Red” Bradley; and one grandson, James Bursey.

Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Margaret Bursey; one daughter and son-in-law, Claretta and Edward Scott; three sisters-in-law, Ruby Banks, Clotel Houff and Laura E. Houff; three grandchildren, Antonio M. Shavers, Nadajalah Dean and Phelisa Geary; and six great-grandchildren.

Services will be noon Saturday at Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. A.T. Jordan Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under direction of Haynes Mortuary.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 7 p.m today at the funeral home.
