NEW BOSTON, Texas—Fletcher Steve Leathers, 83, of New Boston died Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, in a local nursing home.

Mr. Leathers was born Aug. 24, 1929, in Ashdown, Ark. He was retired from Red River Army Depot; produce vendor in New Boston, Ashdown and Texarkana; a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Ben Lomond, Ark.; and a Vietnam War Army veteran. He was preceded in death by his wife, Della; and three daughters.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen Elkins Leathers of New Boston; two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Paul and Robyn Elkins and Chris and Katie Elkins; three grandchildren; five stepgrandsons; two great-granddaughters; one special friend, Martha Collom; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bates-Rolf Funeral Home with Jeff Robinett officiating. Burial will be in Ben Lomond Cemetery.
