NASHVILLE, Ark.—Ava Nell Harris, 98, of Nashville died Friday, Jan. 11, 2013, in Nashville.

Mrs. Harris was born May 30, 1914, in Patmos, Ark. She was a retired teacher and member of Daughters of American Revolution, Howard Memorial Hospital lady’s auxiliary, Delta Kappa Gamma, Howard County extension homemakers club and Sunset Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Otis Harris; one stepson, James Harris Jr.; and one daughter-in-law, Betty Harris.

Survivors include one son, Kenneth Harris of El Dorado, Ark.; one daughter-in-law, Rita Harris of Arkadelphia, Ark.; four grandsons and three granddaughters-in-law, Jimmy and Pat Harris of Bryant, Ark., Greg Harris of Little Rock, Kenny and Donna Harris of Conway, Ark., and Jeffery and Jane Harris of Conway, Ark.; eight great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Nashville Funeral Home with Bob Jamison and David Williams officiating. Burial wil be in Restland Memorial Park.
