STAMPS, Ark.—Robert “Big Rob” James III, 58, of Nash, Texas, died Sunday, Jan. 27, 2013, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital.

Mr. James was born July 29, 1954, in Lewisville. He was retired from Texas Department of Corrections; former member of Lanesport Baptist Church, Garland, Ark., where he served as deacon and treasurer; and member of Bright Star Baptist Church, Texarkana, where he served as chairman of the deacon board, treasurer and vacation Bible school superintendent. 

Survivors include his wife, Dessie James; two sons, Ryan Patrick Robinson and Robert James IV of Nash; his father, Robert James Jr. of Nash; his mother-in-law, Bernice Johnson; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lonoke Baptist Church, Texarkana, Ark., with the Rev. Donnie Dudley officiating. Burial will be in Wynn Cemetery, Garland, under direction of Smith Funeral Home.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
