ATLANTA, Texas—James Edward Boyce, 74, of Atlanta died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at his home.

Mr. Boyce was born May 14, 1938. He was a retired electrician; pastor of Antioch Baptist Church, Naples, Texas; and a member of Floyd Valley Missionary Baptist Church. 

Survivors include three sons, LaPrensa Boyce and Gerald Boyce of Atlanta and Colby Boyce of Queen City, Texas; two daughters, Jamesetta Burns of Dallas and Dana Boyce of Atlanta; three brothers, Joe Boyce and Charles Boyce of Dallas and Donnie Boyce of Longview, Texas; two sisters, Ruby James of Tyler, Texas, and Pleatis Anderson of Atlanta; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two aunts; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, with the Rev. George Rape officiating. Burial will be in Floyd Valley Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery under direction of Coleman-Atlanta Funeral Home.

The body may be viewed from noon to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home with visitation from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
