City secretary recalls paramedic experience to help deliver baby

Abbi Krueger was a paramedic for 10 years before she became DeKalb, Texas, city secretary six years ago, a skill that proved invaluable outside the DeKalb Police Station last April.
DeKALB, Texas—It was a beautiful and comfortably warm spring morning last April when Court Clerk and Fire Department Dispatcher Paula Booth appeared at City Clerk Joni Reed Taylor’s office.
It was almost lunch, and Booth had a puzzled look on her face.
