Updated 1:15 p.m. Black trucks and enclosed trailers, along with additional FBI officials, are arriving at the Richardsons' home on Maple Street in New Boston.

Updated 12:35 p.m. Shannon Richardson has been escorted into the Federal Courthouse in downtown Texarkana in the company of several FBI agent. Meanwhile in New Boston, the FBI's hazardous materials response team has arrived at the Richardsons' home. 

Updated 11:43 a.m. Federal officials have arrived at the home and asked the media to move back to make way for equipment. FBI and postal inspector officials are outside the home.


NEW BOSTON, Texas----The wife of a New Boston man at the center of a federal investigation of poisonous letters mailed to President Barack Obama and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg called law enforcement after finding a suspicious substance in the couple’s refrigerator, sources say.

about 25 miles west of Texarkana.

Sources say Shannon Richardson is pregnant. The couple wed on Oct. 9, 2011, according to Bowie County records.

Nathaniel Richardson, who works at Red River Army Depot, was been detained by federal officials Thursday but it is unclear Friday morning where he is being held.

An FBI spokeswoman said no arrest had been made as of Thursday night. A call to the FBI’s Dallas office has not been returned Friday morning.

Numerous media reports indicate Richardson was detained at the depot Thursday.

Friday morning, a depot official referred calls to the FBI office in Dallas.

Agents have been at Richardson’s home at 111 Maple St. since Thursday.

Information on Richardson’s Facebook page states he’s a 1999 graduate of James Bowie High School in Simms.

Under the work and education section, he lists “Them Streets” and characterizes himself as “nerd, dork, cracker. May 1980 to present.”

He lists HTI, class of 2001, AS in electronics in Phoenix, Az.

Shannon Rogers Guess Richardson is an actress who has appeared on television shows, including “The Walking Dead” and “Vampire Diaries,” according to information on the Internet Movie Database Website.

She was chosen as the National Dignitary/Celebrity Host of the 2012 Susan Komen Race for the Cure in Texarkana, Texas, according to a post on her Facebook page.

Letters with a Shreveport, La., postmark tainted with ricin were mailed to Obama, Bloomberg and a gun control group in Washington, D.C. The letters were postmarked May 20, and the Shreveport postal facility processes mail from New Boston and surrounding areas.

Ricin is a toxin derived from castor beans.
