LINDEN, Texas—Jessie Bell Cooper Luckey, 95, of Linden died Monday, July 1, 2013.
Mrs. Luckey was born Nov. 4, 1917, in Bryans Mill, Texas. She was a former cook, florist, a machinist at Lone Star Ammunition, a homemaker, and a member of Pleasant Hill Quilting Club, New Zion Baptist Church and Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Linden. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Roy Luckey; and two daughters, Ethel Jewel Luckey and Otha Fay Pruitt.
Survivors include five daughters and two sons-in-law, LaJoyce Flanagan of Linden, Betty Smith and Carl Crayton of Marshall, Texas, Eva Vaughn Golston of Texarkana; Corine and Alex Charles of Houston and Fanie Allen of Las Vegas; one sister, Dorothy Jean Wilborn of Los Angeles; two special friends, Charlotte Warren and Alvis Dorsey; 19 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery under direction of Linden Funeral Home.
The body may be viewed noon to 5 p.m. today with visitation 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. today and 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
