Bobbie Lorene Lumbley, 83, of Hooks, Texas, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Lumbley was born Feb. 16, 1930, in Foreman, Ark. She was a retired kindergarten teacher with Leary School District and a member of the Parent Teacher Association, the Iris Garden Club and Myrtle Springs Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by two sons, James Robert Lumbley and Edwin Lewis Lumbley.

Survivors include her husband, James Lumbley of Hooks; one son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Lana Lumbley of Katy, Texas; one daughter and son-in-law, Carrolyn and Billy Griffin of Hooks; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. today at Myrtle Springs Baptist Church with the Revs. Bobby Spross and Michael Hardaway officiating. Private burial will be in the Warren B. Hooks Family Cemetery under direction of Texarkana Funeral Home, Texas.
