DeKALB, Texas—Delpha Elizabeth Caldwell Burkett, 98, of Avery, Texas, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013, at her home.
Mrs. Burkett was born April 27, 1915, in Bonham, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of Avery Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Lee Burkett; one son, Willie Marion Burkett; and one granddaughter, Phyillis Burkett Smith.
Survivors include one daughter-in-law, Lessie Burkett of Fort Worth, Texas; two grandchildren, Tommy Burkett and Tashia Burkett; two great-grandchildren, Derek Smith and Lindsey Smith; one great-great-grandchild, Audrey Smith; two great-nieces, Sylvia Phelps and Tina Caldwell of Avery; one great-nephew, Lee Caldwell of Avery; and a number of other relatives.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Bates Family Funeral Home with Robby Bates officiating. Burial will be in West Bowie Cemetery.
Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
