ATLANTA, Texas–Daniel Austin Lewis, 83, of McLeod, Texas, died Sunday, Feb. 9, 2014, in a Vivian, La., hospital.

The Rev. Lewis was born July 9, 1930, in McLeod. He was a retired United Pentecostal minister, a member of Texas district board of United Pentecostal International and a Navy veteran. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Pamela Rhoads.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Lewis of McLeod; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Cindy Lewis of Sunset, La., and Daniel and Donna Lewis of Kirbyville, Texas; one brother and sister-in-law, Tony and Charla Lewis of Diana, Texas; one sister, Nadine Roberts of Grapevine, Texas; six grandchildren; and a number of other relatives.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at McLeod Tabernacle with the Revs. Jeff Phillips, Kevin Prince and T.D. Cardwell officiating.

Visitation will be 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at the church.
