Lafayette County chief deputy killed in three-vehicle accident
Lafayette County Chief Deputy Sheriff Pete Richardson was killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle collision on U.S. Highway 82 west of Lewisville, Ark.
Richardson was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 82 in a Lafayette County Jeep SUV patrol vehicle with a passenger, according to sources working the accident scene.
The emergency call was recorded at 2:48 p.m.
Richardson was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Jeep hit an oncoming vehicle. Then the vehicles hit a tractor-trailer rig and veered off the roadway.
The passenger in the Jeep, and the drivers of the oncoming car and tractor-trailer were injured and transported to Texarkana hospitals.
Law enforcement agencies were still on scene at 5:30 p.m. investigating the accident.
