A local man and a juvenile have been arrested on residential burglary charges and the two suspects may have committed other burglaries in the area, an official said.

Elmarcus Jerome Bailey, 21, and a 17-year-old male who may be certified as an adult were arrested by Texarkana, Ark., police officials, said Nicholas Elrod, a TAPD spokesman.

Police responded to a residential burglary on Wednesday that had occurred on East 33rd Street.

While searching the area, two suspects in a matching gold four-door Cadillac were found at a nearby convenience store parking lot in the vehicle, Elrod said.

Officers and detectives responding found three flat-screen televisions, remotes and power cords in the suspects' possession, Elrod said.

Both were arrested for residential burglary. Bailey has an outstanding felony warrant for possessing a stolen firearm, Elrod said.

Subsequent interviews with the suspects resulted in the suspects' admissions of other burglaries in Texarkana, Texas and additional charges are anticipated, Elrod said.

The investigation will continue until all leads are exhausted. Anyone with information about this or any other crime is encouraged to call police at 903-798-3154 or CrimeStoppers at 903-794-STOP.
