A man has been arrested on assault and criminal attempt of capital murder charges after allegedly shooting his girlfriend early Friday morning in Texarkana, Ark.

At 6:30 a.m. Friday, Texarkana, Ark.,Police Department officers responded to the 3700 block of East Street in reference to a 911 call of a shooting.

The investigation revealed that the suspect, Antonio Black, 30, allegedly shot his girlfriend, LaPassion Henry 23, after a domestic dispute, said Kristi Mitchell, TAPD spokeswoman.

This dispute began Thursday evening and led up to the morning events, which began when Black located Henry and her cousin inside a vehicle located in the 3700 block of East Street, Mitchell said.

Black then rammed his vehicle into Henry’s vehicle just prior to allegedly shooting Henry twice.

At that time, Black allegedly got into the vehicle with Henry inside and fled the scene, leaving Henry’s cousin behind, who then called for police assistance.

Black drove Henry out onto Miller County Road 26 where he left her down a roadway.

Black walked back to the highway and was subsequently located by police and arrested.

Henry was located and airlifted to a local hospital for medical attention. Henry’s condition is unknown at this time, Mitchell said.

Black was arrested on aggravated assault, aggravated assault of a family or household member, kidnapping, theft of property over $5,000, and criminal attempt of capital murder charges.
