A 40-year-old man is dead after a one-vehicle accident at mile marker 208 on Interstate 30, officials say.

The accident occurred about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

The man, whose name has not been immediately released, was eastbound and driving a 1977 Jeep.

The vehicle apparently rolled three times and came to a stop next to the service road.

Investigators believe the Jeep left the road and entered the center median.

The vehicle then apparently crossed both lanes of eastbound traffic and left the roadway on the south side of the interstate, officials say.

The man had a lap belt on but no other restraining device.
