The suspect in Tuesday's bank robbery has been arrested, a Texarkana, Texas, Police Department official said.

Robert Russell, 44, of Texarkana, Ark., was arrested on robbery and some unrelated charges for warrants, said Sgt. Aaron Brower, TTPD spokesman. Russell was then transported to jail.

Surveillance photo of the suspect was circulated by the news media and almost immediately detectives began receiving tips, Brower said.

Officers responded to a business in the 900 block of Walton Drive and found Russell possessing a couple of items linking him to the robbery, Brower said.

The bank robbery occurred about 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Capital One Bank in the 4800 block of Texas Boulevard.

The suspect gave the teller a note demanding money and took an undisclosed amount of money and fled the scene.
