Bowie County Judge Sterling Lacy won’t file the 2014-15 proposed budget until Aug. 11, according to a press release issued by his office Thursday afternoon.

The proposed budget was due to be filed with the county clerk’s office July 31 per state law, but has yet to be filed.

The release states “several factors contributed to this delay” but does not elaborate.

A budget hearing scheduled for 6 p.m Aug. 18 will still be conducted, but a budget hearing to satisfy legal requirements won’t be set by Commissioners Court until after Sept. 15, the release states.
