Juvenile arrested on aggravated robbery charges
A 14-year-old suspect was arrested late Wednesday on aggravated robbery charges after allegedly shooting a store clerk at 13 Hermanos Carniceria on New Boston Road, a police official said.
Because the suspect is a juvenile, his name is not being released.
Police have identified the shooting victim as Luciano Dominguez, 36, of Hope, Ark., said Shawn Vaughn, Texarkana, Texas, public information officer.
Dominguez was transported to Wadley Regional Medical Center Wednesday night following the shooting.
His condition Thursday morning was not known, Vaughn said.
The suspect was also arrested on an evading arrest on foot charge.
Additional charges against the juvenile may be filed very soon. Additional arrests are also expected, Vaughn said.
TTPD officers were dispatched about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday to a shooting at the food store in the 2300 block of New Boston Road.
According to witnesses, three male juveniles entered the store saying they wanted to buy a bag of chips. The suspect arrested alllegedly pulled a gun and shot Dominguez once in the chest, Vaughn said.
The suspects fled on foot toward the Beverly neighborhood, north of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.
