Juvenile suspect taken into custody after allegedly stealing vehicle
A 15-year-old has been transported to a juvenile detention center after allegedly stealing a vehicle early Monday, a Texarkana, Texas, Police Department official said.
Early Monday, police were notified of a stolen black 1997 Jeep Cherokee, said Sgt. Aaron Brower, a TTPD spokesman.
The owner of the vehicle stated that he had left the vehicle in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 5200 block of Summerhill Road and someone had taken it without his permission, Brower said.
Lt. Johnny Weaver observed the suspect walking away from the stolen vehicle in the 3900 block of Rio Grande Street.
Weaver detained the juvenile suspect and the key to the vehicle was in the suspect’s pants pocket, Brower said.
The vehicle was released to its owner and the suspect was transported to the juvenile detention center.
