Local man arrested for allegedly firing handgun in city limits
A Texarkana, Texas, man was arrested Thursday night for allegedly discharging a firearm within the city limits several times, a police official said.
Tacorrius Jordan, 22,was arrested after 9:30 p.m. in the 300 block of Blanton Street for allegedly firing shots outside a residence in that block several days Thursday, said Sgt. Aaron Brower, Texarkana, Texas, Police Department spokesman.
" Officers were advised by neighbors that the suspect lived at a residence in that block and would come out and fire a handgun from the porch. Officers tried to make contact with the suspect but he would not come to the door," Brower said.
"About 9:39 p.m., a patrol officer in the area observed the suspect come out and fire the handgun approximately 13 times from the porch," Brower said.
"The officer advised that he approached the residence but the suspect reentered the residence. Officers made contact with the suspect ... and convinced him to come out peacefully where he was arrested for discharging a firearm within the city limits."
