TEXARKANA, Texas -- A man has been arrested on charges of discharging a firearm, theft of a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm.

Terrel Coleman, 31, was booked into the Bi-State jail Wednesday and released Thursday afternoon after posting a $20,581 bond, according to the Texarkana Texas Police Department.

Police received several 911 calls early Wednesday about someone shooting a gun around the 900 block of Texas Boulevard. One of the callers reported the shooter was a man in a ski mask and wearing a black jacket who was last seen running toward Main Street.

Officers searched the area and allegedly found Coleman hiding in the bushes on the south side of a building in the 800 block of Main Street. When officers told him to stand up, they saw a black jacket, ski mask and a 9mm pistol lying on the ground beside him, according to TTPD.

Police also found nine spent 9mm rounds in the immediate area and three more bullets still in the gun's magazine. Police also learned the gun had been previously reported stolen in Bowie County and that Coleman was a convicted felon.
