Prep Roundup: Atlanta baseball, softball dominant against Paul Pewitt

ATLANTA, Texas -- Peyton Harrison banged out two triples and a double as his Atlanta team routed Paul Pewitt, 17-0, on Friday night at Rabbit Field.

Harrison went 3-for-3 at the plate with two RBIs and three runs scored in the win. Teammates Will Woodruff, Jaden Riley and Peyton Gaston all had doubles.

Atlanta scored nine runs in the first and added seven more in the third and one in the fourth in the rout.

Woodruff posted the win on the mound. He struck out four and walked two while allowing two hits through four innings.

Maud 24, Avery 0

ATLANTA, Texas -- The momentum of Maud's furious start continued throughout the game en route to a 24-0 victory over Avery on Saturday.

Cason Leavitt, who hit an inside-the-park home run in the first a triple in the same inning, recorded a game-high four RBIs for the Cardinals. He went 3-for-5 and scored five runs.

Maud's Rip Thomas, Graham Hawkins, Brock Windham, and Reyce Bailey all had multiple hits. Thomas also scored five runs in the rout.

The Cardinals scored nine runs in the first, three in the third, and 12 in the fourth on 16 hits, while Avery committed 13 errors.

Thomas and Kaleb Newton combined for the no-hitter. The duo had five strikeouts and one walk.

Nashville 8, Dardanelle 3

LITTLE ROCK -- Nashville finished with 11 hits in its 8-3 win over Dardanelle on Friday.

After facing a 2-1 deficit after the first inning, the Scrappers answered back to tie the game at 2-all in the second. After that, they went on a tear with six more runs while holding Dardanelle to one.

Luke Boon was perfect at the plate, going 3-for-3 with two RBIs and scoring two of his own. Kason Willard and Slade Slayton finished with two hits apiece.

Atlanta 17, Paul Pewitt 0

ATLANTA, Texas--Atlanta's girls matched the boys' efforts on the diamond Friday, defeating Paul Pewitt, 17-0.

Kinlee Hamilton had a big day for the Lady Rabbs. She went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored and got the win in the circle, striking out four and walking one.

Tori Clayton, Aleesha Parkman, Carlajah Adger, Gabby Petrofsky, Kalissa Reliford, Keirsten Underwood and Hamilton all belted doubles in the win.

Atlanta scored 13 in the first and four in the second during the three-inning, shortened game.
