A 13-year-old Ashdown girl was allegedly raped by 22-year-old Kio Demarcus Gaines of Ashdown, who is now a fugitive.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the suspect, which says Gaines reportedly raped the girl May 9.

If anyone has information where Gaines may be staying, contact law enforcement authorities by calling 911 or central dispatch for the Little River County Sheriff’s Department or the Ashdown Police at 870-898-5115, said Ashdown Police Detective Doyle Crouch.

The alleged rape occurred May 9 at the Riverdale Apartments in Ashdown and the victim was able to identify Gaines as the suspect.

The affidavit was filed in the Little River County Circuit Clerk’s office and a bench warrant was issued by District Court Judge John C. Finley for rape.

Crouch also said witnesses saw Gaines running from the apartment pulling his pants up after the alleged assault occurred.
