CHEERS: To the Texarkana Gunslingers for a fantastic debut season. David Farren and his crew have done a wonderful job of bringing professional baseball back to Texarkana. CHEERS to the fans who have faithfully turned out for home games. And finally, CHEERS to the Gazette for covering the games. I’m often critical of the Gazette, but I can’t fault their thorough coverage of Gunslingers baseball.—K.B.C., Nash, Texas



JEERS: To the shoppers of stores that use grocery carts. Why do you walk by a cart outside the store and go inside to get one, maybe have to wait until some are brought in from the outside. Why not grab one from the parking lot and wheel it inside, you will get a thank you from the greeter. Also why do you empty your cart outside and leave it behind, between or in front of a vacant parking spot? Lazy, that is why. Come on and grab a cart next time and get a thank you and park the cart in the cart receptacle when you are through. Maybe next time you will not find a cart behind, beside or in front of your vehicle.—W.J., Hooks, Texas



CHEERS: To the lady and child who found my purse in a shopping cart and were gracious enough to take it inside the store. It is so devastating to know your purse is missing. You really made my day.
