TO THE EDITOR:

The front page of Wednesday’s Gazette was all about “The Gunslingers.” While I am proud that Texarkana has professional baseball back in town, my only question remains: How could all of the city and county officials involved in this process allow the team to be named “The Gunslingers?”

While the name may be insignificant to most Texarkana residents, if a school kid wants to support the team and wears a T-shirt or hat with the logo to school some day they will get expelled. The school systems in this area have zero tolerance for guns. If it allows a “Guns...
