TO THE EDITOR:

Andy Graves in Wednesday, Feb. 27th paper was absolutely right about Texarkana’s new baseball team name, “Gunslingers”. Besides the fact that school kids could not wear T-shirts with that name on them, the name is too long. Think! Ran-gers, As-tros, Roy-als, Rab-bits, Card-nals...they are all just two syllables, easy to say, quick to remember. Run a naming contest but do something! Change the name! I love baseball but I sure don’t like that name. Texas is way past the long-ago image of gunslingers and western battles. P.S., in the same day’s paper, Bruce Cook got it ...
