TO THE EDITOR:

I am an alumnus of the Dunbar High School, one of three all-black schools in Texarkana prior to integration—Dunbar and Macedonia on the Texas side and Booker T. Washington on the Arkansas side. These schools are now represented in the Texas High, Liberty-Eylau and Arkansas High school districts, respectively. Some may regard these educational institutions of the past as insignificant to the overall progress of this area.
