While the recent storms have brought many roofs to be replaced, there is still one hidden danger that often goes unnoticed. When the roof on a home has been replaced and there is a gas water heater and/or furnace, be sure to check the vent to make sure it is properly connected. While the old shingles are being removed and the new shingles are installed, the vent pipes can be bumped and disturbed, causing them to come apart or off the appliance.
