In response to the letter to the editor from the Rev. Dennis Whitmire on Oct. 10, I would like to say “amen.”

Thank you, Brother Dennis, for your letter. The forces that would like to make Nash a beer and liquor depot will always use the gloom and doom economic forecasts to try to get their wishes done. But we do know that if we give in to these tactics that it is still the wrong thing to do, and will cost more in the long run.
