TO THE EDITOR:

Froma Harrop’s column was filled with old stereotypes. In my many years of membership in the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, I have never seen strongarm tactics used to coerce employees to join the union. It is laughable that we would get a person drunk and slide a card in front of them to sign. For the past decades there has been a war declared on the middle class. Since the Reagan administration thousands of workers have been wrongfully terminated in this country simply because of union organizing.
