DALLAS—A Dallas middle school student died after jumping from the rear door of a moving school bus, authorities said.

Martin Alverado, 14, died Friday at Children’s Hospital in Dallas. Alverado was a

student at Cary Middle School.

Four other children were on the bus at the time of the incident, which occurred about 3 p.m. Thursday. No other injuries were reported.

Police were investigating.
