2 injured after shooting in off-campus dorm parking lot in Tyler
The Associated Press
TYLER, Texas—Two Texas College students were shot outside an off-campus dorm early Thursday, and authorities were still looking for the gunman. Roy Morgan, 19, was shot in the abdomen and was hospitalized in serious condition, Tyler police spokesman Don Martin said. Bobby Hughes, 20, was shot in the hand and has been released from the hospital. Martin said it was unclear what instigated the shooting. But police believe the two shooting victims were targeted and not picked out at random. “There is more to this, and we are investigating,” Martin said in a story posted on the Tyler Morning Telegraph’s Web site. The dorm is not located on the main campus of the historically black college. William Harris, interim president of Texas College, said other students were not in danger and that school officials were investigating the shooting.
