LONGVIEW, Texas—Local, state and federal officials arrested more than 40 people in the Longview area on drug and gun charges, part of a two-year investigation targeting gang activity in the East Texas town. A total of 56 people were indicted on state or federal gun and drug charges. The 27 people charged with state violations are scheduled for arraignment Thursday morning at the Gregg County Courthouse, officials said.
