Texas editor jailed in Wyoming
LANDER, Wyo.—Police jailed overnight a newspaper editor who was found at a central Wyoming rest stop five days after she went missing in Texas.
Fremont County Sheriff’s officials say that LaDawn Garland, 42, was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The charge was dropped Tuesday morning and Garland was released to relatives who had flown up from Texas. Garland is managing editor of the Bosque County News in Meridian, Texas. She went missing after calling her husband on her call phone around 7 p.m. Wednesday. Her husband said she’d told him she was calling from a Best Buy store in Waco, Texas, about 45 miles from their home. On Monday morning, a motorist saw Garland at a rest stop on U.S. Highway 26 about 35 miles northwest of Lander. The motorist called authorities because she thought that Garland looked like she needed help. Sheriff’s Sgt. Jerry Evagelatos said Garland told authorities she’d been at the rest stop since Friday and hadn’t had anything to eat or drink over the weekend. He said Garland was taken to a hospital and from there to the Fremont County jail. Featured Texarkana Business Directory Articles Featured Texarkana Business Directory Coupons |
